Digital Divide Data (DDD) bridges the divide that separates young people from opportunity in Cambodia and Laos by providing disadvantaged youth with the education and training to deliver world-class, competitively priced IT services to global clients and acquire the essential business skills that help them break the cycle of poverty.
Since starting operations in Phnom Penh in July 2001 with 18 employees, DDD has launched offices in Battambang and Vientiene, increasing its headcount to 500 and generating more than US$2.5million in revenues since inception. Over the years, 7000 youths have been impacted by DDD’s training programs, with each graduating student achieving close to six times the average salary of their peer group. DDD plans to scale its operations to 1500 employees by 2011.
In recognition of its innovative work/study social enterprise model, DDD received the US$1 million Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2008.
