Hagar’s website: www.hagarinternational.org

Hagar, a Swiss-based Christian organization, works with women and children from devastating backgrounds of violence, abuse and trafficking and supports them in their recovery, rehabilitation, job readiness and ultimately community reintegration. Reflecting the model of an hybrid organization, Hagar advocates the social enterprise model as a tool for social rehabilitation and economic empowerment and is committed to individualized and long-term assistance to its beneficiaries.

Since 1994, Hagar has developed a range of social programs and social businesses to cater to the needs of the Hagar community as well as supporting the long-term sustainability of the organization’s goals.  Starting in 2008, Hagar embarked on a replication strategy of its social enterprise model from Cambodia to Afghanistan, Vietnam and Laos.

Hagar seeks to provide leadership in the field of Social Entrepreneurship and is strongly/proactively involved with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship in the various Word Economic Forum meetings as well as a member of the International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC Cambodia).

Volans Year is an unequaled opportunity for candidates to match theories with practice; being immersed in the culture of a social enterprise, immediately integrated into a strong support network and further inspired and instructed from some of the leading social enterprise thinkers and practitioners of today.
